CowalFest Argyll 2018 Friday, 5th - Friday, 12th October

CowalFest is primarily an outdoor walking festival, but there are many more attractions for history and nature lovers, families and groups, with opportunities that benefit your health and heal your soul. Plus we have a variety of daytime and evening entertainments to suit all tastes.

We offer walks covering a wide range of ability and distance. Climb Cowal’s highest mountain Beinn Mhor; hike a section of the Cowal Way; trek paths with stunning views from Arran to Arrochar; walk along the shores of Lochs Fyne or Long; or take a more leisurely amble along the banks of the River Eachaig and Masson. You can even try an overnight stay in a remote bothy! We have walks for everyone: all with wonderful scenery and memorable viewpoints regardless of the weather!

However if hiking isn’t your main interest, combine your walk with an informative talk, go horse riding, improve your health, or just have some family fun.

We also offer:

• Heritage walks/talks, with knowledgeable guides providing information on village history, the Cowal Clans, Victorian engineering, or the two World Wars from the perspective of men on Innellan’s War Memorial.

• Nature walks/talks with experienced guides for those interested in bird watching, geology, woodland fungi, or the botanical gardens of Benmore.

• Events/tasters to improve your Health and well being. Try Tai Chi, Yoga, Chi or Nordic Walking,or a stroll along the shore to seeking inspiration for artistic creativity.

• Horse rides to view the Cowal countryside and wildlife from the saddle, with Wilder Ways offering two-hour rides for beginners and experienced riders.

• Events tailored especially for all the Family, with up to three children under 11 going free.

So, no excuses! You now have plenty of reasons to join in, discover the delights of the Cowal Peninsula, or even start a new hobby or interest. In addition, to show you what Cowal has to offer in the way of Culture, we have a range of entertainments happening throughout the 8 days.

• Cultural/Social events held during the day and evening. Experience a Cowal Ceilidh; enjoy traditional Highland Music and Dancing, or simply sample the delights of a Beer & Music Festival.
