Transport to Dunoon and Cowal
  • By rail - to Gourock or Arrochar
  • By ferry - from Gourock, Bute or Kintyre
  • By bus - McGills, Citylink and local bus services
  • By road -A82 from Glasgow heading north up Loch Lomondside or A82 from the north to Tarbet, Loch Lomond, then A83 over the Rest and Be Thankful, then A815 into the Cowal peninsula; or from Glasgow M8/A8 to Gourock and ferry to Dunoon.

Transport is provided for some walks. The organisers would appreciate donations towards cost where transport is provided by Cowalfest 2016.

Public transport
Bus timetables are available from Dunoon Visitor Information Centre. Bus times should always be verified before setting out. Walk times should give adequate time but will depend on walking speed and conditions. Please inform the walk facilitator if you have a deadline to meet.

Car parking
Car parking is usually available at walk start points but can sometimes be limited.

Prior booking
Numbers participating on guided walks are limited. To avoid disappointment prior booking of all walks is strongly recommended.
