Getting to Cowal

Cowalfest, the Cowal Walking and Arts Festival, offers an unrivaled experience to explore the Cowal Peninsula. This hidden part of the Highlands is just over an hour from Glasgow and encompasses the Argyll Forest Park - now part of Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park. The western shore stretches from the Kyles of Bute to the head of Loch Fyne. At its centre is Loch Eck, gouged by glaciers, but today a place of stunning beauty and tranquility.

Whatever your interest - walking, wildlife, history, culture, the marine environment - maybe a bit of everything or just a chance to get away for a few days and chill out - it is here waiting for you along with a friendly highland welcome in this unique part of Argyll.

Choose from a list of over 80 different walks, and a host of arts and social events to make your autumn break this year something different.
