This is an easier, undulating section of the Cowal Way, through fields, broad-leaved woods, and forest tracks. With a gentle climb to 85 metres at the start, the route offers excellent views of both Loch Fyne and the Kyles of Bute. Points of particular interest along this section include the dramatic ruins of Asgog Castle on the shore of a lochan, the remains of a gunpowder mill, and a World War II tank landing slip. Return CowalFest transport to start.

Bring snacks and water. Sorry no dogs.

* Optional return CF transport to start is available from Dunoon coal pier departing 0930: pick-up also from Sandbank P.O. 0935, and Broxwood car park Sandhaven, 0937.
